How to make a school schedule manually online
To make a school schedule manually, start with the lessons each class needs and the times teachers can teach. Rik Plan gives you a lesson queue and a timetable grid, with workload totals and rule warnings to support your decisions. You choose each placement yourself.
Open manual modeCreate an empty timetable
Open manual mode and choose Create from scratch. Select or create a school and name the timetable. Review the default weekday grid: adapt its days, lesson times, and breaks to your school before placing lessons.
Add teachers, subjects, and classes
In a teacher dialog, add subject names as tags and set the teacher’s availability. Add a class and choose its grid. Then add the class workload: subject, teacher, weekly lesson count, and duration. These requirements create the cards in the lesson queue.
Place lessons and read the warnings
Drag a lesson into a time slot, or choose Place and click a slot. Switch between class and teacher views to understand overlaps. Review the rule warnings before deciding on a placement; manual control does not make an unavailable teacher available.
Review hours and save changes
Compare planned, placed, and remaining workload. Unplace returns a lesson to the queue; Delete changes the lesson plan. Use Undo or Redo to correct edits. Save explicitly or let changes save when switching editing context, then export the reviewed timetable.
Common questions
Can I start without generating a timetable?
Yes. Manual mode creates its own timetable and lesson requirements. An automatically generated schedule is not required.
Can I move a lesson without deleting it?
Yes. Move its card, or unplace it and choose another slot later. Delete is a separate action that reduces the underlying lesson requirement.
